Mark Paganelli joined the University in May 1992 as an auditor with the Internal Audit Department. In 1999, he was promoted to the Executive Director of the department and held that role until 2010, when he joined the University’s Treasurer’s Office as the Executive Director for Administration and Finance. He was promoted to his current position in the Office of Finance as the Associate Vice President for Financial Administration in July 2018. The Associate Vice President is responsible for the oversight of the University’s payroll, accounts payable, purchasing, licensing and risk management offices.
Prior to joining the University, Mr. Paganelli worked six years for the State of Tennessee Comptroller’s Office where he supervised the investigative section for the Division of State Audit. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of North Alabama and a master’s in business administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). He was also a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps Reserves.
